Collection: Painting

Choose painting tools by the decision that changes the finish: brush geometry, roller nap, shield flex, and spray-pole working range. The selector below uses exact Hyde models, live commerce data, and explicit job boundaries.

THE HYDE COUNTER · PREP TO FINISH

The finish starts before the paint—and changes with the surface.

01

PREP · OPEN · CLEAN · SET

One tool for the interruptions around the coat.

  • Choose the 10-in-1 when the day includes opening cans, setting fasteners, cleaning rollers, scraping, and patch prep.
  • Boundary: A multi-tool covers many support jobs; it does not replace a dedicated flex knife, stiff scraper, or finish brush.
02

BRUSH · NARROW FLAT FACES

Square-cut for a controlled band—not a freehand cut line.

  • The 1-1/2-inch firm flat covers edges, narrow trim faces, and defined bands without spilling onto the adjacent surface.
  • Boundary: It is not an angled sash brush; use an angle when the long corner must draw the freehand line.
03

ROLLER · NAP DECISION

Same four-inch footprint. Different film.

  • 1/4-inch microfiber: gloss and semi-gloss on smooth trim, cabinet interiors, and tight reveals.
  • 3/8-inch microfiber: small wall areas and light texture; rolls wet cut-in bands to the wall’s stipple.
  • Boundary: The 1/4 skips wall texture; the 3/8 leaves more texture than a gloss finish wants.
04

SPRAY SHIELD · SURFACE TRUTH

At 24 inches, flex is the whole decision.

  • Flexible 28010: bows into wavy trim, aged surfaces, and carpet edges.
  • Stiff 28020: holds a straight fence on glass, modern casing, cabinet work, and flat drywall.
  • Boundary: Stiff bridges hollows and leaks fog; flex can wander on a true precision line. Neither replaces room masking.

05 · AIRLESS SPRAY · WORKING RANGE

More reach is not automatically more useful.

Collapsed length governs control as much as maximum reach. Cut-ins and arm’s-length finish work stay handheld; select a pole only for recurring elevated production work.
