Slow is the skill

every failure this head produces — foam in paint, pits under skim, slung mud on the walls — is a speed artifact. Bottom-first, perimeter-deliberate: the settled layer and the factory-stiff mass live at the floor and the wall-ring; the head visits both or the pail lies to you. Submerged transitions: trigger on at the floor; dead stop before the head clears the surface — the Mudslinger name describes what happens otherwise. Load-reading: surging drill = still breaking; level drill = circulating; lugging drill = brace and slow down. Batch to the window: hot mud and grout are mixed in set-window quantities, not pail quantities. Wash on the clock: mud same-hour, chemistry-set materials immediately, epoxy instantly.

Will it really mix a full five of joint compound on a regular drill?
Yes — that is its design point: 3-1/4" of blade rolls the pail, 3/8" of hex chucks in the standard drill, and low rpm keeps the pairing honest (2a, 2h).
46560 or 46565?
Answer with your drill. No 1/2" low-rpm drill → 46560, full stop; the 46565's shank won't even chuck. With that drill and daily heavy mud → the 46565 earns its class (§5).
Hot mud too?
Yes — water first, powder in, batch sized to the set window, washed immediately (2c, 2i).
Texture for a hopper gun?
Yes — mixed to an even slurry with no dry pockets, verified before it reaches the hopper (2d).
Epoxy?
Rated by the family row (2g) — blended within pot life, no whipped air, washed instantly. The 434xx paint tier is barred from epoxy entirely.
Why did my skim coat pit two days after I mixed?
Whipped air — mud remembers. Bubbles beaten in at the mixer ride into the finish coats. Slow, submerged, moving; rest a whipped batch (2a, 2b).
Can it pass a pour spout?
No — no 3-1/4" head can. Sealed-pail mixing is the 46540's and StirWhip's specialty.
The drill twisted in my hands — defect?
Torque reaction: stiff mud loading the head makes the drill body try to spin. Brace, choke up, run slower — and if it is constant, the mud may want the 46565-class rig (2h).
