The drill is the technique

low-rpm 1/2" machine, side handle mounted, stance braced — the tier's only head where rig setup precedes trigger discipline. Slow, submerged, orbiting: consequences scale with diameter; surface contact slings, speed aerates, and both are this head at its worst. Bottom-first: packed solids and factory-stiff mass live at the floor; 23-1/2" of shaft exists so the head can live there too, drill high and dry. Load-reading: level = circulating; surging = still breaking; lugging = brace harder and slow down — never power through a stall. Batch to the window: the head mixes faster than chemistry forgives; set-window materials get set-window batches. Wash on the clock: the bigger the blade, the more future batches a crusted root contaminates.

Will it fit my 3/8" drill?
No — the 1/2" hex shank does not seat in a 3/8" chuck, and this is the one compatibility answer in the tier with no workaround. The 46560 is the same duty family for your drill.
What drill should drive it?
A 1/2"-chuck low-rpm, high-torque drill — the spade-handle mixing class — with the side handle mounted and used (2h).
Is it actually better in mud than the 46560?
In stiff, heavy, or brimming pails, yes: 4" of head turns the pail as a mass and 23-1/2" of shaft keeps the drill clear. In ordinary pails the difference is a minute, which is why the drill question comes first.
Epoxy pours?
Its best-in-tier case (2f): family-rated, sized for gallon-scale kits, blended within pot life, washed instantly. The 434xx paint tier is barred from epoxy outright.
Hot mud and grout?
Yes to both — water-first from powder, batches sized to the set window, slake honored for grout, wash immediate (2c, 2g).
The drill kicked hard enough to twist my wrist — what happened?
Torque reaction: the head lugged and the machine rotated instead. That event is why this head specifies the low-rpm 1/2" class with side handles. Brace, slow down, start submerged (2h).
Drums?
No — pail depth is the boundary. The 28" 09059 is the line's only drum-rated reach.
