✕CHOOSE A DIFFERENT TOOL WHEN
- Not the abrasive-synthetics blade — polyester cord, glass-filled fiber, and rubberized stock abrade a carbon edge faster than honing can keep up, and that duty belongs to the high-speed-steel patterns.
- Not the dense-and-grabby blade: material that would roll a thin flat edge, or glancing cuts into hard stock, want the bevel grind's backed edge (62600/62750 class), not this flat one.
- Not a reaching blade — the 9" 086 (62180) owns that.
- And not a knife you buy finished: the BG20 is a bare blade for a handle, not a riveted one-owner tool.
