Is this the right tool for your job?

DO NOT FORCE THE FIT
  • Not solvent-borne coatings.
  • This is a plastic jumbo, and hot solvents — mineral spirits, xylene, epoxy components — can soften, craze, or permanently gum a plastic tray; the line's answer for alkyds, oils, and solvent floor coatings is the metal deepwell (92060, sibling member), whatever the capacity, because metal is indifferent to solvent and the jumbo's plastic is the wrong vessel for it.
  • Not the 18" roller: the 92067's 9-1/2" ramp physically cannot load an 18" cover — that is the 92113's width, not this tray's, and the two share only a capacity number.
  • Not ladder work (§3, weight).
  • Not the low, flat, single-room latex job, where its mass is dead weight the 2-liter standard doesn't ask you to carry.

How the pros run it

01

Loading (the universal move)

pour until the well is full but the ramp stays dry — the paint line stops where the slope begins. Dip the cover's face into the well, then roll up the ramp and back three or four times; the ribs spin the cover to redistribute paint around its full circumference and shear the excess back down into the well. A correctly loaded cover is evenly saturated and does not drip when lifted. The two overfill failures apply with extra consequence in a jumbo: paint poured onto the ramp submerges the cover instead of dipping it (a flooded core that drools and spatters), and a well filled past the brim spills the first dip over the rim — and over a jumbo's rim, that's a larger pour on the drop cloth. The underfill tell is gentler: a cover loaded on one line of its face stripes the wall until you notice. Weight discipline: four liters of paint is over four kilograms in the tray — this is a floor tray or a sturdy-shelf tray, not a ladder-shelf tray; putting a charged jumbo on a ladder is exactly the accident the line's dedicated ladder tray (92054, plastic, 2-liter, sibling member) exists to prevent.

Asked at the counter

BUYER QUESTIONS ANSWERED BEFORE THE CART, NOT AFTER THE RETURN
What does "jumbo" actually get me?
Twice a standard tray's paint at the same 9-1/2" width — half the refill trips, no extra reach (2a). It pays on height and ceilings; on a flat single room it's dead weight.
Can I run an 18" roller from it?
No — 9-1/2" ramp; an 18" cover needs the 92113 (§4, §5). Same four liters, different machine.
Can I use it for oil or epoxy floor coating?
Not recommended — it's plastic, and solvents attack plastic; the metal 92060 is the line's solvent chassis (§4).
Which liner fits it?
The 92077, officially "4L PLASTIC LINER FOR 92067" (2c). Nothing else in the line is mold-matched to this well.
Is it too heavy for a ladder?
Charged, yes — over four kilograms; keep it on the floor and use the mounted ladder tray (92054) for height (§3).
How big is it exactly?
Only the class facts are known — 9-1/2" width and 4 liters, both store-title-derived, the 4 liters corroborated by the 92077 liner page. Footprint and wall height are unverified.

Great quality

I've painted for over 30 years. This is by far the greatest roller tray I've ever used. Sturdy as it gets. Non-stick surface makes it a breeze to clean. The same could be said about the roller handle. Real quality stuff here

Awesome Paint Tray!

This is a great paint tray. It is clean (no plastic bits on the tray), large (yes, it holds a gallon), and heavy-duty (i can carry the gallon in one hand and the tray doesn't bend--it really is heavy-duty). Best tray I've owned.
