Plunge and pierce cuts. No point, by design — that is the whole idea. Mid-material starts want a pointed blade (42101, industrial-knives line).
Snap-off hosts. This is a trapezoid utility blade, not a segmented snap blade — it does not fit the 9mm/18mm/25mm snap-off knives.
Substrate-safe pulling. Cutting shingles, carpet, or sheet vinyl without scoring what is underneath is the hook blade's job (42200), not the round tip's.
A knife on its own. These are replacement blades; they need a standard trapezoid utility knife or a self-retracting safety knife to hold them.
The round-tip blade is a slicing edge; feed it into the tape or seam at a low angle and pull. There is no tip to place, so technique is all edge — let the blade shear along the line rather than trying to enter the material point-first.

Cut the tape, trust the geometry
On cartons, run the seam and the tape and let the blunt nose keep you off the contents. The blade is designed so that a wandering hand meets a rounded corner instead of a spearing tip.

Issue and account for blades one at a time
The dispenser's single-blade issue is a feature — use it as one. Hang it at the station, hand out one edge per swap, and the ninety-nine unused blades stay contained. A round-tip blade is still a two-ended sharp: it dulls, it gets flipped end-for-end, and eventually it is spent and must go into a sharps stream, not a pocket or a trash bag.

Treat them as carbon-steel utility blades — keen, and to be kept dry.

What makes it "round-tip"?
The pointed corner of a standard trapezoid utility blade is rounded off, so the blade cannot plunge or pierce — which means it cannot stab a worker or puncture packed goods.
Why would I want a blade that can't pierce?
For box opening and safety-program cutting, the inability to plunge is the value: no plunge wound, no punctured product. Where you need to pierce, use the pointed dispenser (42101).
How many blades?
One hundred, issued one at a time from a wall-hangable dispenser.
What knives take these?
Standard trapezoid utility knives (42020, 42083) and the self-retracting safety knives (42060, 42065), which ship with a round-tip blade.
What steel and thickness?
Carbon-class round-tip blades (the type Hyde's metal safety knife ships as "round-tip carbon steel"); the dispenser page doesn't separately print a thickness , and we won't quote one from another line.
Is this the same as the standard 100-pack?
