The dispenser format does not change the blade's limits: it is a general utility edge, not a trade blade for leather, belting, or heavy foam, and not a precision flash blade.
It is pointed, so where a facility has standardized on round tips for puncture safety, the correct supply is the round-tip bulk pack (42118), not this one — the dispenser's safe feed protects the hand drawing the blade, but it does nothing about a pointed blade's puncture risk in the cut.
And for a single knife with light use, a hundred-blade dispenser is more supply and more mounting than the job needs; the 42100 five-pack is the right scale there.
The dispenser earns its keep at the point of use; on a wall at hand height or fixed in the gang box, not floating loose. One out, one in — pair it with a sharps slot. A single-feed source for fresh blades should be matched by a captured container for spent ones, so the flow is safe at both ends; a dispenser that feeds cleanly but discards into an open bin only solves half the problem. Keep it dry. The blades are bare steel and will rust in a damp box; a wall dispenser in a humid or wet-process area needs a dry spot. Don't defeat the feed. The value is that no one reaches into the stack — cracking the box open to grab a handful reintroduces exactly the hazard the dispenser removes.

Is the blade different from the packs?
No — it is the same .025" heavy-duty standard blade as the 42100 and 42150; only the dispensing is different.
What does the dispenser do?
Feeds one blade at a time and mounts on a wall or sits in a toolbox, so no one reaches into a pile of loose blades.
Why does that matter?
Groping in a bulk box of bare blades is a common way to get cut; single-feed removes that hazard.
Will the blades fit my knives?
Yes — they fit most utility knives, Hyde's included.
