A “blade” is not the useful unit in a snap-off program. The useful unit is the fresh point delivered to the correct host where the cut happens.
This line provides:
13 points per 9 mm blade;
8 points per 18 mm blade;
7 points per 25 mm blade;
100 whole round-tip utility blades in the accepted 42102 dispenser record; do not convert those blades into edge counts without separate cutting-end evidence.
Stocking begins by translating packages into those units without pretending every point has the same service life.

The point totals are transparent arithmetic from accepted count × accepted points per blade. They are not life or coverage claims.
Keep the 9, 18, 25 mm, and round-tip families physically separated.
Preserve the packaging flags
Do not normalize the line into one dispenser story.
42356 explicitly claims used-blade storage for safe disposal. It is the only member in this exact graph with that accepted statement.
42359 explicitly claims a reusable hang-hole dispenser holding 50 18 mm blades. “Storage” does not establish a spent-segment chamber.
42355 explicitly claims a reusable 10-blade dispenser. No used-segment chamber is claimed.
42345/42330 include storage dispensers for their five blades. Do not call them spent-blade containers.
42352 has a catalog identity of 50-pack, while the store title calls it a dispenser.
42102 dispenses one blade at a time and may hang on a wall or fit in a toolbox.
Labels should repeat accepted functions only.
Verify the hosts before stocking the station
Build a knife roster:
blade width/class;
lock/retraction type;
approved blade and change method;
crew/job assignment;
station or kit location;
The 25 mm 42360 is an intentional cross-line member. Verify the physical tool/manual before issue.
The 42102 round-tip blade feeds a safety-knife program only where exact host compatibility is verified. Round tip is not a universal trapezoid-blade fitment claim.
Do not stock by “looks like the same slot.”
Assign the width to the work
9 mm: precision and frequent renewal
Use the verified host system for wallpaper, film, vinyl, fine trimming, and similar precision work where a slim fresh tip steers and the operator renews often.
Thirteen points per blade make point consumption part of technique. Do not extend a 9 mm blade far to make it do 18 or 25 mm structural work.
18 mm: general jobsite cutting
Use verified 18 mm hosts for drywall paper, rigid foam scoring, sheathing/film, and general cutting that needs more beam stiffness.
Eight points per blade mean each blade yields fewer but larger segments than 9 mm.
25 mm: depth/stiffness branch
The seven-point 42360 is for the verified 25 mm host where deep/full-extension work is authorized. It is not an upsized refill for an 18 mm knife.
Round-tip: policy/task branch
The 42102 subtracts the penetrating point while retaining a cutting edge. Use it where the verified host/task values content protection and reduced puncture potential.
A round tip can still cut a worker. It does not eliminate guarding, retraction, training, or disposal.
Count demand in fresh points and whole blades
For snap-off work, record both:
points consumed during normal snapping;
whole blades issued for host loading/loss/damage.
These numbers answer different questions. High point use with stable whole-blade issue can be normal production. High whole-blade issue with low recorded point use can indicate lost parts, wrong loading, breakage, or poor capture.
For 42102, count whole blade issues/returns because it has no snap-off-point claim.
Material, sharpness threshold, cut length, contamination, technique, and host condition vary.
Choose package format by location
Kit pocket
The five-blade formats—42345, 42330, and 42360—serve mobile kits and small jobs where compact verified supply matters.
The 10-blade 42356 or 42355 can sit with one operator or small cell. The 42356’s accepted used-blade compartment makes it especially job-shaped for 9 mm work where segments are snapped frequently.
Gang-box or crib wall
The 42359 is explicitly reusable with a hang hole and holds 50 18 mm blades. The 42102 is explicitly designed to wall-hang or fit a toolbox and dispenses one blade at a time.
Reserve stock
The 42352’s 50-pack supplies 650 accepted 9 mm points, but its exact dispenser construction remains unresolved. Keep it in labeled reserve unless the physical package proves an appropriate station role.
Do not call every large package wall-mountable.
Establish a clean issue station
At each station provide:
exact width/class label;
compatible host list from verified records;
fresh dispenser/package;
change/snap instruction;
issue/return log;
responsible restock owner.
Separate fresh and spent flow. Never let a used segment return through the fresh opening.
Keep dispensers out of dust, water, adhesive, mortar, and impact. A contaminated blade can jam a host or drag a finish before its edge is worn.
Build the spent-edge route before the first issue
Snapped segments and removed blades remain sharp.
OSHA’s hand-protection standard requires employers to select protection for hazards including cuts and punctures. Apply the exact knife and dispenser manuals for blade change, snapping, retraction, and guarding rather than inferring one model’s controls from another.
Use the knife/dispenser’s approved snap/change method.
Route spent material:
into 42356’s explicit used-blade storage when using that product as directed;
into a purpose-selected rigid container for other members;
through the site’s approved disposal process.
Do not snap toward people, catch a segment in a bare hand, drop it in an open pail, or tape loose segments to a dispenser wall.
Verify the arithmetic at receiving
At intake, match:
points per blade;
42345: 5 × 13 = 65;
42356: 10 × 13 = 130;
42352: 50 × 13 = 650;
42330: 5 × 8 = 40;
42355: 10 × 8 = 80;
42359: 50 × 8 = 400;
42360: 5 × 7 = 35;
42102: 100 complete round-tip blades.
Baseline usage without rewarding dull cutting
For an initial period, record:
fresh points used;
whole blades loaded;
discarded partial blades;
Do not pressure operators to suppress legitimate snapping so the usage number looks efficient. A fresh point is the value proposition; wallpaper or film torn by a dull edge costs more work than the segment.
Use the baseline to place supply, not to invent blade-life promises.
Set local replenishment triggers
For each station, determine a local ready quantity from:
observed point/blade consumption;
peak crew count;
consequence of a stockout;
Record the trigger internally.
Count unopened reserve separately from partly used dispensers. A 50-blade package with three blades remaining is three ready blades, not fifty.
Use a safe visual or manufacturer-approved count method; never empty sharp blades onto a bench merely to reconcile the ledger. Record uncertainty conservatively and resolve it at the next controlled change.
Run daily point-of-use checks
At shift start or station handoff:
correct dispenser at correct station;
host mapping current;
fresh supply present;
used route not full/damaged;
loose blades absent;
no mixed widths;
quarantine cleared or secured;
issue record ready.
return unused sealed stock;
account for loose/partial blades;
secure spent container;
clean the station;
Do not reach into a dispenser to estimate by touch.
Prevent the three common substitutions
9 mm into an 18 mm program
The slim blade is not a substitute for stiffness. It may flex, wander, or break when extended/loaded beyond its host duty.
18 mm into a 25 mm program
Near width is not fit. Mount, stiffness, segment geometry, and host lock differ.
Standard pointed blade into a round-tip safety program
The point is the difference. Substitution changes the documented hazard-control intent even if a mount appears compatible.
Quarantine wrong-family parts. Do not “use them up” on an unverified host.
Investigate abnormal consumption
If use rises, inspect:
changed material/coating/contamination;
knife track or lock damage;
blade snapping technique;
drops/whole-blade disposal;
station too far from work;
wrong family issued;
false dullness from adhesive loading.
Use cut-quality evidence. A damaged knife can consume new blades without becoming safe or accurate.
Do not correct rising consumption by delaying blade renewal.
Keep carbon-steel evidence scoped
Accepted official descriptions establish carbon steel for 42345, 42356, 42330, 42355, and 42359.
Do not transfer carbon steel to:
The 42352 packaging construction remains in conflict. Keep storage dry and follow physical product instructions without inventing corrosion/material claims for the flagged members.
Audit the whole system
host roster by width/class;
open product/family mappings;
fresh packages and derived points;
partly used dispensers;
issued whole blades;
Check that the 25 mm host remains available and documented; 42360 without its cross-line host is not usable crew capacity.
Check that 42102 remains within its verified round-tip host program, not a generic 100-blade reserve.
Record without overstating
Record model, accepted package count/points, station, host, issue/use, spent route, exception, and replenishment decision.
Keep these distinctions:
package count is product fact;
derived point total is arithmetic;
local consumption is operating evidence;
future blade life is unknown;
Do not turn a month’s average into a Hyde coverage claim.
What goes wrong (and the fix)
42352 is hung on a wall because the store title says dispenser. Verify the physical package; reusable/hang-hole construction is unresolved.
Spent segments go into a five-blade storage dispenser. Use a verified spent-blade container; only 42356 explicitly claims used-blade storage here.
The 25 mm pack has no host. Link/verify the cross-line 42051 rather than issuing it as an 18 mm substitute.
Round-tip blades are replaced with pointed blades. Restore the safety-program specification and investigate supply.
Whole-blade issue rises but point use does not. Investigate loss, damage, host loading, and record practice.
A dispenser is counted as full because it exists. Count actual remaining fresh blades through a safe method.
A used segment is found in a pocket. Stop and restore point-of-use spent capture.
Carbon steel is claimed for all eight. Remove it; only five exact members have that accepted material claim.
The history footnote
Snap-off blade logistics became possible when one blade began carrying a train of breakaway points: renewal moved from the sharpening bench to the cut itself. The large dispenser is the organizational continuation of that idea—fresh edges placed where work consumes them.
