How the pros run it

Load the tip third, keep paint out of the heel

Dip a third to half of the bristle and never to the ferrule; paint dried in the heel splays the brush for good. Tap the excess, don't wipe it. Tapping each face inside the can preserves the reservoir the large-capacity SRT is designed to hold; dragging over the rim strips it. Present the chisel edge and draw one pass. Set the thin tapered edge to the sightline, begin just short of the end, return into the corner, and pull the line in a single smooth stroke while the tips gutter paint to the edge. Chase the wet edge in fast waterborne coatings — keep sections short enough to join wet to wet. Save the brush at the heel. Rinse waterborne paint under warm water, work it out of the base of the fill first, comb the filaments parallel, spin or shake dry, and store in the keeper so the tapered edge holds its shape for the next job.

13418 or 13518?

Oil-based paint?
