The guidance below describes applications and limitations. For a match to your particular job or an existing tool, ask us to confirm fit.
Fine or curved cutting. Wallpaper, film, graphics — the 9mm blades. A 25mm blade cannot follow a tight radius.
Ordinary jobsite scoring. The 18mm blades are handier and longer-lived per blade for everyday drywall and light foam.
Any host in this line. There is no 25mm snap-off knife among this line's bodies — the host is the screw-lock 42051 in the industrial-knives line. Buying these without that host (or another 25mm screw-lock knife) leaves you with blades and nothing to hold them.
Hook or round-tip work. Pointed straight snap segments only.
The 25mm's advantage is full extension, and full extension is only safe against the screw-lock. Set the depth, lock the collar hard, then cut. A long blade that creeps mid-pull is the failure mode this host exists to prevent.

Commit to the pass
A depth blade rewards one continuous, controlled stroke over repeated sawing tugs — each stop lets thick material re-grip the blade's flanks. Let the length of edge cut; do not lever the blade to force it.

The point is not a pry
Even a stout 25mm blade snaps if twisted or side-loaded past its beam. When a cut hangs up, free it with the blade, not by torquing the tip.

Snap the segment, and mind that it is a big sharp
Seven long segments means each snapped piece is a substantial two-edged shard — larger than a 9mm tip and more than able to cut through a glove or a bag. This pack has no used-blade chamber, so spent segments go into a sharps container, never loose. Snap at the groove, away from the body.

Hyde documents these as snap-off blades in the family whose 9mm and 18mm pages state carbon steel; the 25mm page does not separately print the metallurgy , so treat them as carbon-class snap steel — keen, and prone to rust if left wet. Keep the pack dry; wipe the working segment after damp work.

How many edges?
Thirty-five: five blades, seven snap-points each.
Why only seven points?
Because 25mm segments are longer, so a blade of standard length carries fewer of them. Fewer, longer, stiffer segments is the depth blade's whole character.
What knife takes these?
The 25mm screw-lock snap-off knife (Hyde's 42051), which is in the industrial-knives line — not among this line's knives. That is the one thing to know before buying.
Why a screw-lock instead of a slide?
A 25mm blade extended for a full-depth cut is under real load; the screw collar clamps it rigid so it cannot creep. Depth and clamp are a designed pair.
Are they carbon steel?
They are snap-off blades in the family whose 9mm and 18mm pages state carbon steel; the 25mm page does not separately print it , so treat them as carbon-class and keep them dry.
Can I use them for drywall?
You can, but the 18mm blades are handier and carry more edges — the 25mm earns its keep only where single-pass depth is the requirement.
