✕CHOOSE A DIFFERENT TOOL WHEN
Heavy rust and aggressive steel removal. No carbon brush is in this pack, and brass and nylon won't cut heavy rust or scale — that's a carbon-brush job (the wood-handle 46847/46850, or a carbon mini from the single-material sets). Reaching for the brass mini on rusted steel and concluding it's "weak" is a fill-selection error, not a defective brush.
Large areas. These are point-target tools. A field of anything — a wall, a panel, a floor — wants a full-size brush or a block; a mini would take all day.
Structural cutting or prying. Small brushes for cleaning, not tools for removing structural material or levering.
a mini is aimed by the wrist and fingers, for a small, precise, or hard-to-reach target — if you find yourself putting your shoulder into it, you've reached for the wrong size and want a full-size brush. Let the tips do it: even at mini scale, the wire and filament cut at the tips; pressing hard just folds the fill and, on brass, wears it out faster. Match the fill every time: equal-or-softer than the surface, never carbon on stainless or aluminum (not an issue here — there's no carbon in the set), nylon when metal residue or scratching is the worry, brass when a spark can't be risked. Care by fill: rinse and dry the stainless and brass after wet or solvent work; the nylon just needs a rinse.
Asked before buying
BUYER QUESTIONS, ANSWERED BEFORE YOU ORDER
What's in the pack?
Three mini brushes — one brass, one nylon, one stainless. No carbon.
Which one for a battery terminal?
Brass — soft enough not to gouge the post, and non-sparking.
Which one won't scratch a finished or soft surface?
Nylon — no metal at all, no residue.
Can any of these tackle heavy rust?
No — none is carbon. For rust, use a carbon brush; these are for detail, soft metals, and no-iron/no-spark work.
Is the stainless one safe on my stainless part?
Yes, and it won't leave iron behind — but keep it away from carbon steel so it stays uncontaminated.
How big are the brushes?
The pack's exact dimensions aren't published; treat them as detail/limited-access minis and confirm sizing against the physical product.
