Not spreading spackle from the kitchen drawer — that buyer wants the 04060 Value Series flexible, a short filling knife, not a long blending blade.

Which paint spatula should I buy if I'm buying one?

Will it handle a quart?
Yes — quart-scale batches and quart containers are precisely this width's grain (2a, 2b). A gallon's walls and depth want the 41110.
Can I mix epoxy or two-part filler with it?
As spatula-class practice, yes (2f) — noting that Hyde publishes no material rating beyond paint for this line.
Is the blade flexible? Will it rust?
Spring steel, hardened and tempered, per Hyde — flexible in substance ("flexible blade" is a distributor's word ). Alloy unstated : wipe it dry like carbon and the question never matters.
How long is it?
A distributor lists 7-1/2" overall; retailer-observed, not a Hyde claim — approximate until measured.
Why steel over a wooden stir stick?
The stick keeps a quarter of your batch in its grain and yesterday's color in its surface. Sprung steel scrapes the settled layer, returns its load, and wipes to bare metal.
