Foam-pad reality: the 09046's pad is foam, and foam under pole pressure follows big hollows rather than bridging them — fine for knockdown and general smoothing, one reason final flatness verdicts on critical walls get made at arm's length with a rigid-pad hand sander. Sheet discipline: tensioned flat, re-seated at the first slack, retired at the first slowdown. Dust: N95-class respirator for dry conventional sanding, per the abrasives doc's evidence base (NIOSH 99-113); pre-1978 painted surfaces are presumed lead and belong to RRP-documented methods, not this head (EPA RRP).

What sheets does it take?
3-1/4" × 9-3/8" abrasive sheets, per Hyde. Precut drywall sheets and screens in that class are aisle commodities; grit choice runs on the abrasives line's ladder (120 knockdown / 150 workhorse).
Wing nuts or EasyClamp?
Hyde's catalog says wing nuts; Hyde's website says EasyClamp — for the same SKU ( 3). Unresolved on the record; the loading outcome (sheet tensioned flat, gripped at both ends) is the same either way.
Can I put Hyde's net sheets on it?
They're 3-5/16" × 11-1/4" against this head's 3-1/4" × 9-3/8" spec; the net row claims conventional-sander fit, but the physical pairing is bench-check-flagged ( 13) — verify on the unit before relying on it.
Does it hook to a shop vac?
No — no vacuum path exists on this head. That's the 09170 (your pole) or the 09180 (pole included).
Is the plastic body a durability problem?
For occasional and punch-out duty, no — and it can't corrode. For daily production, the aluminum 09047 is the tool built for the truck.
Why does my new pole sander keep slapping the ceiling?
Head flip — the swivel snapped past its range. Lower the pole angle, ease off at stroke ends, and walk long passes (2c). Every finisher gouges exactly one ceiling learning this.
