Two tethers, one discipline

pole angle shallow, hose over the shoulder — the head answers to both, and each can flip it. The rig's weight is the pressure; extraction changes the dust, not the physics. Zone the room by hose radius: move the vac per zone, never lean against the hose. Seal is finish: a tensioned abrasive face is both scratch quality and suction efficiency. Filtration before the first stroke (⚑2, trade advice): fine-dust bag or drywall filter, checked as suction fades. Respirator on long sessions regardless (NIOSH 99-113); pre-1978 paint is RRP law (EPA RRP).

Screen or net — which does it use?
The box seeds a reversible screen (flip for the second face); the family claim and system consumable are the washable net sheets (7). Both pass air; scratch signature and lifecycle differ — the abrasives doc explains.
Will it fit my shop vac?
The supplied adapter fits most standard wet/dry vacuum connections. Check your hose connection before ordering; the vacuum is purchased separately.
Does it have the no-flip pad?
No. The 09180 has the no-flip pad. The 09170 uses a conventional pivoting head.
What vac filter do I need?
Hyde's claims are silent (2). Trade answer: fine-dust bag or drywall-rated filter, or compound dust blinds a standard cartridge and takes your suction with it.
09170 or 09180?
Choose 09170 if you already have a compatible Acme-threaded pole. Compare 09180 if you need the included pole and no-flip pad. Both require a separately purchased wet/dry vacuum.
