Angle: fairly flat to the wall for wiping and building, steeper only to press material into a joint. Coats: thin and layered, each wider than the last — a wide blade tempts a heavy single pull, but two thin coats level better and sand less. Using the striker: tap to set a fastener flush, don't swing it like a hammer. Steel: high-carbon hones keen and flexes true; wipe it dry after water-based compound so it doesn't rust and streak the next coat. Clean it wet — dried mud on a 6" blade drags a line across everything after it.

Standard flex vs the ExtraFlex 02852?
Standard flex builds and presses coats; the ExtraFlex is the limber finisher for the last wipe. Different coats, same 6" width.
What's the Hammer Head for?
Setting popped nails/screws so you can coat the dimple with the same knife.
Can I do a final feather with it?
It blends well, but the dead-flat finish pass is the 02852's job.
Will it scrape?
No — it's flexible; use a stiff blade to remove.
Too wide for my patch?
Probably — drop to a 3-1/2" (02500) or 2" flex for small repairs.
