✕DO NOT FORCE THE FIT
- Walls, as a default — the 1/4" starves and reloads endlessly on a full wall; that is the 3/8" 47302's job.
- Any real texture — orange peel, knockdown, sand plaster: the short nap paints the peaks and skips the valleys, leaving a wall that looks done at noon and unpainted at 6 PM; step to 1/2" (47300) or longer.
- Masonry, brick, stucco, cinder block — Hyde is explicit that rough surfaces "will snag, fray, and quickly tear up the delicate microfiber filaments"; masonry is polyester's job (Lamb Pro 47365/47366), never microfiber's, at any nap.
- Exterior finish woodwork — for a front door or exterior enamel trim in the sun, the exterior-grade polyester 1/4" (Lamb Pro 47360) is built for it; this interior microfiber is the wrong fiber outdoors (see §5).
