CHOOSE THIS WHEN
  • Ultra-Thin Microfiber Blend: Constructed from a dense matrix of microscopic fibers that hold up to three times more paint than a standard roller cover.
  • Flawless, Spray-Like Finish: Automatically levels and distributes paint with virtually zero stipple, yielding a mirror-smooth look.
  • Maximum Shed Resistance: Tightly locked, premium synthetic filaments prevent lint and loose fibers from shedding into wet paint.
DO NOT FORCE THE FIT
  • Texture beyond light — orange peel, knockdown, sand-finish plaster: the 3/8" bridges the valleys and paints only the peaks, so the wall flashes unpainted under raking light.
  • Step to 1/2" (47300) for light texture, further up the ladder as the tooth deepens.
  • Masonry, brick, stucco, cinder block — Hyde is explicit that rough surfaces "snag, fray, and quickly tear up the delicate microfiber filaments"; masonry belongs to polyester (Lamb Pro), never microfiber.
  • Epoxy floors and hot-solvent coatings — for lint-free that also survives aggressive chemistry, the woven family (Woven-Ultra) is the rated cover; see §5.
  • Cabinet-door glass finish — the 3/8" lays more film than a cabinet should carry; that's the 1/4" (47309).

How the pros run it

01

Light hand

The 3× capacity is a gift only if you don't fight it: press hard and the cover floods the wall and drips; let the nap meter the paint at hand weight. This is the single most common E-volution mistake. De-lint before the first load — even a lint-free cover is wrapped-and-ripped with painter's tape, or washed and spun, before it meets paint. Pre-dampen for waterborne paint (roll on a damp rag, spin out) so the first load goes to the wall, not into dry fibers. Load fully, lay off light: saturate on the tray screen or bucket grid, then finish each section with a near-weightless single-direction lay-off pass to align the stipple and pick up fat edges. Watch for fat edges — ridges the cover's ends leave under pressure; one light pass lifts them while wet, sanding is the only fix once dry. Cleaning takes longer than a standard cover — the dense fiber holds paint; rinse until the water runs clear, spin, and stand it on end to dry, and it comes back better. The wall and ceiling methods are owned by the paint a wall and paint a ceiling application guides.

Asked at the counter

BUYER QUESTIONS ANSWERED BEFORE THE CART, NOT AFTER THE RETURN
What nap do I want for a wall?
3/8" — this cover — for standard smooth-to-lightly-textured drywall and plaster. It's the default answer — §1, §2a.
How is microfiber different from a standard cover?
Holds up to 3× the paint, lays a near-spray film with almost no stipple, and sheds nothing (100% lint-free) — Hyde's own claims — §1.
Why does my paint drip less overhead with this?
Capillary action holds paint inside the nap — a real ceiling advantage — §2b.
3/8" or 1/2"?
Feel the wall: smooth → 3/8"; orange-peel/knockdown you can feel → 1/2". Ceilings lean 1/2" for fewer reloads — §5.
Epoxy floor?
Not this — use the woven Woven-Ultra (47328), which is rated for epoxies and won't shed — §4, §5.
My wall looks textured after painting. Either the wall has real texture (step to 1/2" 47300) or you pressed too hard and flooded it — light hand — §3, §4. - 3/8" or 1/2"?
Feel the wall: smooth → 3/8"; orange-peel/knockdown you can feel → 1/2". Ceilings lean 1/2" for fewer reloads — §5.

official description
E-Volution Advanced Microfiber Ultra-Thin Microfiber Blend: Constructed from a dense matrix of microscopic fibers that hold up to three times more paint than a standard roller cover. Flawless, Spray-Like Finish: Automatically levels and distributes paint with virtually zero stipple, yielding a mirror-smooth look. Maximum Shed Resistance: Tightly locked, premium synthetic filaments prevent lint and loose fibers from shedding into wet paint. Exceptional Splatter Control: Capillary action within the micro-filaments locks the paint inside the nap, reducing drips and messy splatters during overhead work. Ideal For All Sheen Levels: Flawlessly applies every finish from flat and matte to semi-gloss and high-gloss enamels. Critical Lighting Areas: Perfect for Interior spaces like large ceilings and walls exposed to direct sunlight, as it eliminates lap marks and tracks. Smooth to Semi-Smooth Surfaces: Optimally engineered for drywall, plaster, ceilings, wood trim, and smooth-rendered walls. Limitations Higher Paint Release Control Required: The massive paint capacity requires a lighter touch; pressing too hard can cause the roller to overload the wall or drip. Longer Cleaning Time: The incredibly dense microscopic fiber web holds onto paint tightly, requiring a more thorough and rigorous rinsing process to clean completely. Not for Aggressive Textures: Rough surfaces like heavy stucco, brick, or cinder blocks will snag, fray, and quickly tear up the delicate microfiber filaments. Key Differences from 100% Polyester Paint Capacity and Speed: Advanced Microfiber holds significantly more paint per dip than standard 100% polyester, allowing you to paint up to three times further before returning to the tray. Finish Smoothness vs. Stipple texture: Standard polyester leaves a noticeable, bumpy "orange peel" stipple pattern on walls. Microfiber lays the paint down so evenly it mimics the glass-smooth look of a commercial paint sprayer. Splatting and Mess: Standard polyester is prone to spraying micro-droplets and splattering paint everywhere when rolled quickly. Microfiber absorbs and locks the paint in place, resulting in a much cleaner, virtually splatter-free work environment. Premium Investment vs. Disposable: Standard polyester is a cheap, disposable commodity. Advanced Microfiber is a premium contractor-grade product that commands a higher retail price but delivers vastly superior results. — OFFICIAL FAMILY CLAIM APPLICABLE TO EXACT LISTED MODEL
