Not hot or abrasive high-rate cutting — friction heat rounds a carbon edge, and that is exactly what the HSS blades (57200, and the 6522M 57230) are for.
Not contour-following — a swept, curved cut line wants the curve point extension blade (57320), not this straight bevel edge.
Not a handheld personal knife — a whole riveted knife for one owner is the bevel point knife (60300); this is a station consumable that needs a handle to work at all.
And not a heavy-force or prying blade — the thin 20-gauge steel is the most fragile in the family under a side load.
How far the blade stands out of the handle sets its working reach and its effective stiffness: short extension for a stiffer, more controlled detail cut; longer for reach into the work. Gauge sets the stiffness floor and extension tunes from there ⚑ (authored cantilever reasoning, not a Hyde claim). On a light blade like this one, a shorter extension is often the way to steady it. Let it follow. The 57060's whole value is flex — don't fight it into rigid straight-line work the 18-gauge does better; use it where following the surface is the point. Honing. High-carbon steel takes and re-takes a keen edge on a stone; hone the bevel, strop the burr, and when the blade is honed back too far to reach the work, extend it — and when there's nothing left to extend, replace it. Rust. Carbon steel blooms where stainless would shrug; wipe it dry after cutting anything wet or over fresh adhesive.

Why is this the 20-gauge blade if the 57090 looks identical?
Thickness — .035" here versus .049" there. This one flexes to follow light, springy stock; the 18-gauge holds a rigid line in dense material. Same pattern and size, different stiffness.
Does it come with a handle?
No — it is a blade only. It mounts in one of this line's flat-sided wood extension handles (57620/57630/57660/57680), which take both 5/16" and 3/8" mill blades.
What is "extension"?
The blade slides out of the handle and is set (extended) further as honing wears it back; when there's nothing left to extend, you replace it from the box. That is the system, and the reason a station buys blades by the box and handles once.
Carbon or HSS?
Carbon (this blade) by default — easy to re-hone, ideal for light stock. Go HSS (57200) only when blades come back heat-rounded from fast or abrasive cutting.
Will it rust?
Yes if neglected — high-carbon steel. Wipe dry after wet or adhesive work and hone on a stone.
