Work along the line, not across it

Track the brush down the grout joint so the narrow face stays in the recess doing the work; dragging it across the tiles just wears the fill and cleans nothing. Wet the job and let the cleaner help. Nylon is a scrub fill, not a cutter — a grout cleaner, a mild acid or alkaline product suited to the tile, or plain soapy water does the loosening and the brush does the lifting; re-wet rather than force. Start gentle, escalate only if needed. Because this brush can't scratch glaze, it's the safe first attempt — if it genuinely can't lift a stain, then consider a harder fill, with a test patch. Mind the heat and chemistry. Nylon is a thermoplastic and softens in hot, aggressive solutions; keep the cleaner at working temperature. Rinse the fill so cleaner and grout residue don't harden in it — the no-metal fill won't rust, but a clogged brush stops scrubbing.

Will it scratch my tile?
No — soft nylon is chosen specifically so it cleans the grout without scoring the glaze on the tiles beside it.
Why is it so narrow?
The 5/8" face is sized to ride down a grout joint and work the grout, instead of scrubbing across the tile faces.
It won't lift a stubborn stain — now what?
Nylon scrubs but doesn't cut deep mineral stain. Step up to a brass (46811) or, cautiously and with a test patch, a stainless (46812) grout brush.
Grout brush or the nylon stripping brush (46804)?
This one for tile and grout lines (narrow, no scraper); the 46804 for stripping paint from surfaces (wider face, plastic scraper).
Can I leave it wet in the shower?
Yes — the nylon fill carries no metal, so it won't rust or streak; just rinse residue out of it.
