Bulk does not change what the blade can and can't do.
It is still a general utility edge, not a trade blade — leather, belting, and heavy foam belong to the ground heritage knives.
It is still pointed, so it is the wrong bulk supply for a facility that has standardized on round-tip blades for puncture safety; that facility stocks the 42118 instead.
And it is not a precision flash blade.
If your volume is low — one knife, occasional cuts — the 100-pack is more blade than you will use before some rust; the 42100 five-pack is the right size for that.
A hundred blades do the most good split to where the cutting happens — a handful at each cut station or in each knife's onboard store — not locked in one drawer across the building. Rotate and keep dry. Bare blade steel corrodes; keep the box closed and dry, and a rusted or pitted blade is scrap regardless of how many are left. Enforce change-at-first-drag with the supply. The whole point of buying in bulk is to make a fresh blade cheaper than a forced cut — a well-stocked box is a safety control, because the excuse "we're out of blades" is how crews end up sawing with dull edges. Capture spent blades in a dedicated sharps container; a hundred-blade throughput means a hundred spent edges, and loose ones in the trash are a laceration waiting to happen.

Is the blade any different from the 5-pack?
No — only the quantity. The .025" heavy-duty standard blade is identical to the 42100's.
Why buy 100?
Volume cutting burns blades; a bulk box keeps a crew or shop supplied so fresh blades are always cheaper than forced cuts.
Will they fit my knives?
They fit most utility knives, including Hyde's whole line.
Should I get this or the dispenser (42101)?
Same blade and count — get the dispenser if you want one-at-a-time feed and a mountable box; get this for plain bulk.
Pointed or round-tip in bulk?
This pack is pointed; the 42118 is the round-tip bulk pack for puncture-safety programs.
