Never fix coarse scratch with 180 — it polishes a 120 scratch's tops without reaching the bottoms, and primer finds them. Draw before you touch on a vacuum sander. Wash before retiring — a slowed fine disc is usually loaded. On Level-5 work, 180 is a handoff, not a finish — the 240 follows.
