CHOOSE THIS WHEN
  • Stainless Steel Blades: Provides durability and resistance to rust.
  • Soft-Grip Handle: Ensures comfort and reduces hand fatigue.
  • Enhanced Durability: Stainless steel blades offer long-lasting performance.
DO NOT FORCE THE FIT
  • Tape bedding — 4"–6" joint-knife work; a 10" cannot hold pressure on the tape center line.
  • The delicate finish feather — the extruded stiffness is the wrong property for a whisper-light last wipe; for feather-to-zero finishing use the flat-back 09363, and for the widest feather step to 12"–14".
  • First fill on a tight, small seam — an 8" (09323 extruded) is quicker and less wasteful there.
  • Scraping — a finishing blade, not a demolition edge; ridge-lifting is a stiff chisel knife's job (02601).

How the pros run it

01

A stiff 10" is a screed you lean on. Bow still contributes

center pressure crowns, end-biased pressure feathers — but the extruded back resists it, so the blade rewards deliberate angle-and-pressure control and holds its geometry under heavy mud. Deposit at 20–30°, strike off flatter near 15°, and keep the stroke steady: a foot-wide blade prints any wobble a foot long. The soft-grip handle suits the extended, leaning fill passes this knife invites, and the hang hole keeps it out of the wet. Wipe on the pan rim every return. Cleanup is a rinse — stainless blade, rivet-free build, nothing to dry into rust, no crevice to hold compound.

Asked at the counter

BUYER QUESTIONS ANSWERED BEFORE THE CART, NOT AFTER THE RETURN
Extruded vs flat back?
Extruded is stiffer (flatter fill under load); flat keeps more spring (better feathering). This is the extruded 10".
Why is the 10" a "second knife"?
It widens the fill coat and starts the skim — the step between an 8" fill and a 12" finish.
Can it set a popped nail?
Yes — the Hammer Head® end. The Value Series™ 09313 cannot.
Does it rust?
No — stainless, rivet-free. The blue-steel 09233 needs drying.
Best for the final skim?
It starts a skim well but the stiff back isn't the finishing spring — for that use the flat-back 09363, and finish the width at 12".
