Bevel flat, blade low

a chisel works with its single bevel riding flat against the surface — keep it there and the edge shaves without the corners gouging. Thickness is for force: the .075" spine lets you lean into cured material that a thin blade skips over; use that deliberately, and don't mistake it for a pry bar. Heat or solvent first on adhesives: loosen the bond, then let the stout edge lift — force alone chips or smears. Hone the carbon keen: dress the single bevel with a mill file to keep it shaving; a keen chisel is a clean chisel. Not a struck tool: never hammer the hardwood-riveted spine — this series excavates by pushing, not striking. Safety limits: pre-1978 paint means lead (EPA RRP wet methods); pre-1980s black cutback adhesive may contain asbestos (test first).

What makes it "Extra Heavy Duty"?
A .075"-thick blade — half again the standard .055" — so it excavates cured, bonded material instead of flexing against it.
What's the chisel edge for?
A single bevel that rides flat to shave residue, gaskets, and specks off a surface without the corners gouging — and to drive under hardened adhesive.
07210 or the standard 07060?
Scrape → 07060; dig, chip, or shave hardened material flush → 07210. The 07210 is the escalation tool.
Can I lift a whole floor of glue with it?
Only the edges and detail — at 1-1/4" flat it's a detail excavator. Whole floors are the 3" bent 12010's job.
Can I fill with it?
No — a stiff chisel can't conform. Fill with the flexible hardwood knives (07010/07110).
Removing old floor adhesive — anything to watch?
Pre-1980s black cutback adhesive may contain asbestos; test before disturbing. Pre-1978 paint means lead — EPA RRP wet methods.
Will it rust?
It's a high-carbon blade — hone it keen and wipe it dry after wet work; carbon rewards care with the keenest edge.
