Walls and texture, same as any 1/4" mini: the short nap starves and skips on a full wall and can't reach real tooth — the cage doesn't change what the cover can do, only how steadily it does it.
It also isn't the flattest gloss tool (foam is).
And while the cage is the sturdier mini frame, it's still a mini — not an extension-pole wall system.
Use the 94012 for what it is: a complete, sag-free, reusable 4" fiber finish mini for smooth doors, cabinets, and trim.
reload often (short nap, small tank), keep pressure light, build with thin coats, and lay off in one direction for an even sheen; de-lint the woven cover before first use. The cage changes one thing for the better: you can spread a coat with a touch more confidence than on a wire frame, because the frame won't bow and drop an edge — but "a touch more" is not "bear down." Light pressure still gives the best finish; the cage just removes the flex penalty when you do press. Washing is easier here too: spin the cover off the cage, rinse until the water runs clear, dry it standing on end, and keep the frame for the next sleeve.

BUYER QUESTIONS ANSWERED BEFORE THE CART, NOT AFTER THE RETURN
What's a cage frame vs a wire frame?
A cage supports the cover along its full length (no sag, clean spin-off); a wire frame supports only the ends and can flex under pressure. This SKU has the cage.
Why does the cage matter on a finish mini?
Because a flexing frame drops an edge and bands the film; the cage keeps the coat even.
Does it come with the cover?
Yes — the 4" Pro 1/4" cover (94010) is included on the frame.
Can I reuse the frame?
Yes — keep the cage, replace the cover (94010/94011). The frame is the durable half.
1/4" or 3/8" on the cage?
1/4" (94012) for smooth doors, cabinets, and semi-gloss; 3/8" (94014) for wall texture.
