At 1/4" the tank is too small and the reach too shallow for a full wall or for any real tooth — on orange-peel or knockdown it paints the peaks and skips the valleys and reloads endlessly.
For texture, step up in nap (a 3/8" mini); for walls, up in nap and width both.
It also isn't the flattest possible gloss tool — foam edges it out for a mirror finish.
The 94010 is a small-component finish mini: short nap, four-inch width, woven and reusable.
a 1/4" nap holds little; a starved short-nap cover drags and skips, so go back to the tray before it runs dry. Light pressure — let the nap deliver the paint; pressing forces fat edges out of the cover's ends onto your finish. Thin coats — two light coats of enamel level and cure better than one heavy one. One-direction layoff for an even sheen. De-lint before first use even on a woven cover — a wrap-and-rip with painter's tape. Wash and keep it — rinse in warm water or the coating's solvent until clear, spin, and dry standing on end so it never develops a flat spot that would print a stripe.
