The same boundaries as any E-volution microfiber mini: not for rough texture or masonry (the filaments snag and tear on stucco, brick, and block), not for big open walls (that is 9" work — 47302), and not for invisibly touching up a 9"-rolled wall (the mini's stipple scale can flash; the 47353/47354 on a full 1-1/2" core is the touch-up-match cover).
And a four-pack is over-buying for a genuine one-room, one-color job — that is what the 2-pack (47310) is for.
Buying four covers you'll use once and store half-used is its own small waste.
Identical to the single cover, and worth stating because a four-pack tempts abuse
light pressure (a loaded microfiber floods when you lean on it), pre-dampen for waterborne paint, load full and quiet, lay off in one direction. The pack-specific discipline is cover hygiene between colors: label or set aside which cover ran which color, because a microfiber that carried a dark accent will bleed into a light wall paint if you grab it by mistake. At day's end, wash the ones you're keeping — spin out, warm soapy water until it runs clear, stand on end to dry — and honestly assess the rest: a cover that ran solvent enamel or that has matted flat has earned retirement, and a four-pack is priced to let you retire one without flinching.

Are the covers any different from the 2-pack's?
No — identical 4" jumbo mini, 3/8" nap, 3/4" core, microfiber. Only the count differs.
Can I dedicate one to primer and one to topcoat?
Yes, and you should — it's the four-pack's best use, and it sidesteps microfiber's slow rinse mid-job.
Is this too many covers for one room?
For a single room in one color, yes — buy the 47310 two-pack instead.
Do I still wash them?
