It is not a PivotNeck repair: the angle joint lives on the shield side of the connection, and a worn joint needs the blade-side remedy, not a new stick.
And it is not a fix for a creased working edge — the one failure that genuinely ends a shield lives in the blade's last inch, which no handle touches.

Is it threaded? Acme?
The family's handles are catalog-claimed Acme-threaded; this SKU's own rows name no thread . The inference is strong — verify the wording before treating "Acme" as printed spec on this part.
How does it install?
Thread-on by hand: square presentation, backwards quarter-turn to register, forward to snug (2a). No tools.
My shield won't hold its angle — is a new handle the fix?
Probably not. Angle-holding is the PivotNeck joint on the shield side; a new stick cures wobble from a cracked or chewed handle, not a worn neck (2a, §4).
Can I hold cut cardboard with it?
No — no jaw on this stick. That is the 28100's job, which includes its own 18" handle.
Does it make my shield reach higher?
No — 18 inches restored, zero added. Reach is an extension pole threaded into the same socket (official on 28100; inferred for shields).
Why buy a spare?
