What's the difference between this and the 2" stiff (02300)?
Opposite tools. The 02300 is rigid and removes; the 01150 is flexible and fills. They're a matched pair, not alternatives.
Why 2" instead of the 1-1/2" 01040?
The wider blade levels dents and patches across sound wall on both sides and runs open-field holes faster. For single holes and trim, the narrower 01040 is better.
Will it rust or stain my patch?
No — stainless takes no maintenance and won't gray-streak white compound. That's its advantage over the carbon 02250.
Is it the right knife to eliminate sanding on a finish patch?
No — that's the extra-limber SuperFlexx job (06257). This is the fill-and-smooth knife; the SuperFlexx is the final-feather specialist.

Yes, on small repairs — and stainless is the right pick because two-part chemistries stain carbon and a rusting edge contaminates light filler.
