Trust the auto-lock, but respect its logic

It clamps wherever the slide stops, which is fast and set-and-forget — the trade-off against a 2-piece positive lock is that a positive lock is a deliberate two-step for a blade you want absolutely fixed; for constant-change precision work, the auto-lock is the right pattern, but know the difference when a cut is deep and side-loaded.
