Is this the right tool for your job?

DO NOT FORCE THE FIT
  • Full walls and ceilings — 3 inches is a trim width.
  • Critical finish surfaces read under sheen — a general-purpose cover can shed a fiber into the film, and on a feature wall or a gloss cabinet that fiber is a callback; use the woven Pro grade or foam.
  • Epoxy floors and hot solvents — those need the lint-free woven rating this grade doesn't carry.
  • Rough masonry — wrong nap and wrong grade.
  • And it isn't a frame or a kit — it's the cover alone; supply your own frame (§1).

How the pros run it

01

Mount square

on your frame so it spins true. De-lint first, seriously: the general-purpose grade sheds more than a woven cover, so tape-peel or wash-and-spin before the first load is not optional if the surface will be seen. Load damp, work light: a mini floods the instant you press; let the nap deliver. Lay off one direction for an even stipple. Wash or retire honestly: rinse and reuse it for utility work, but recognize that this is the grade where the wash-or-toss economics tip toward toss — a cover this cheap isn't worth a long solvent bath, and after a hard job or an oil coat it's a rational discard.

Asked at the counter

BUYER QUESTIONS ANSWERED BEFORE THE CART, NOT AFTER THE RETURN
Does a frame come with it?
No — the cover alone. It fits a standard mini frame; the 94020 is the version that includes a plastic frame (§1, §5).
What's "general purpose" grade, and what fiber is it?
The economy/utility rung, sold by its nap. No fiber is stated on record — position it by the 3/8″ nap, not by a fabric name.
When is this the right cover instead of the Pro?
Priming, rentals, utility coats, and one-room jobs where a shed fiber won't matter. For sheen, feature walls, and finishes read close, use the woven Pro (§5).
Why does mine shed?
The budget grade sheds more than a woven cover — de-lint every new cover before the first load (§3).
Reuse or toss?
Reuse for utility work; it's cheap enough to toss after solvents or a hard day. Buy the 94038 2-pack if you're burning through them (§3, §5).
Can I prime a whole house with it?
Yes, and buy the pack to do it — it's the right cheap grade for a seal coat (§2b, §5).
