Steer with pressure, not angle

A stiff blade goes where pressure sends it; rock the wrist, don't twist the blade. Small bites win. The 40060's whole design argument is that many controlled cuts beat few forced ones; when you catch yourself forcing, the blank is too big or the edge is too dull. Choke up for detail: index finger along the spine, thumb on the work. Both hands have jobs: the knife hand cuts; the wood hand positions, braces, and — in thumb-push and lever grips — powers. Stop cutting when tired. Follow-through injuries and fatigue are the same statistic.

Control vs stroke. Small blanks, detail, students, smaller hands: this knife. Roughing and long slicing cuts on bigger work: the 40160. Length is the only documented difference between them — refuse any listing that sells you a third.
Is it sharp out of the box?
It ships with a working factory edge; the honest expectation for the pattern is that a carver refines it on stone and strop before serious work and then keeps it keen by stropping (expectation set from one independent report, flagged above).
Can it hollow the spoon bowl?
No — no straight knife can. Bowl interiors want a hook (spoon) knife, which this store does not sell. Sloyd plus hook is the complete spoon kit.
What are the blade width and thickness?

Will it rust?
