The only thing the 50-pack adds is method consistency — a crew running a box of these should standardize the sequence so unit forty looks like unit one. Old walls (pre-1978) carry the same lead/asbestos caution; a patch-over disturbs almost nothing, which is a virtue worth preserving across every unit.

Is the patch different from the single?

Does buying fifty make the repair easier?
