What it does
8" taping knife with a blue steel blade, an aluminum back and an angled handle. The knife is 23% lighter than conventional taping knives. It is the first blade wider than the recess.
How to use it
- Keep the blade flat and even so the outer inch or two of each end rides the wall.
- Press at the center for a slight crown. Bias pressure to an edge to feather it.
- Wipe the blade on the pan rim at every return.

Common questions
What coat is the 8" for?
The first fill coat over a taped, tapered seam.
Blue steel or stainless at 8"?
Same knife otherwise. Blue steel needs wiping dry. Stainless (09312) does not.
Can I embed tape with it?
No. Use a 4 to 6" joint knife for the tape coat, then fill.
Will it rust?
The aluminum back will not. The blue steel blade will if left wet. Dry it.
