What it does
6" Value Series taping knife with a blue steel blade, an aluminum back and an angled handle. It is 23% lighter than conventional taping knives. The aluminum back resists rust. Dry the blue steel blade after use.
How to use it
- Press at the handle's center to bow the blade. Bias pressure to one edge to feather it to zero.
- Wipe the blade on the pan rim at every return.
- Wash and dry the blade after water-based compound.

Common questions
Is this the same as a 6" joint knife?
No. Same width, different tool. Embed tape with a 6" joint knife. Use this backed taping knife for first passes and smoothing.
Why is the handle angled?
So your hand feels the difference between an embedding stroke and a smoothing stroke.
Is there a stainless 6"?
Not in this line. Stainless Value starts at 8".
Will it rust?
The aluminum back will not. The blue steel blade will if left wet. Wash and dry it.
