Wall and ceiling field. Four inches against a full wall is time running backward; that's the 9" 47328's job. The mini is for what the 9" can't reach, not a substitute for it.
Faces narrower than the cover. On a stile or muntin narrower than 4", the shoulders overhang and print on the neighbors — drop to a 3" mini or, below that, a brush.
Invisible touch-ups against a 9"-rolled wall. A standard mini leaves mini-class stipple that can flash in sheen; the 4"-on-full-core 47353 is the matching tool.
The flattest possible mini finish on smooth cabinet doors. Where a small door face must read glass-flat, the microfiber or foam minis lay flatter; the woven's edge is toughness and lint-free chemistry tolerance.

A 4" cover has a small circumference and holds little paint; expect frequent dips and keep the loads light and even, wiping the shoulders on the grid so an overloaded end doesn't print a bead where strips meet. Slow starts. On a wire frame the cover spins on its own end caps with nothing driving it; begin each stroke slowly so it bites and turns before you add speed, or the first inches skid. Light pressure. The span between a mini's end caps flexes if you lean on the middle — nap weight, not force. De-lint first, same as any cover. Match the width to the work honestly — at or above the cover's own width it rolls clean; below it, the shoulders print and the job is a brush's. Cleaning: on latex, wash the woven pile in warm water to the fiber base and dry on end — a mini this size cleans fast and comes back; on epoxy and enamel solvents, clean immediately and treat coating minis as consumable.

Why does it come as a 2-pack with no single?
Trim and tight work chew through minis, and a lint-free spare is worth having on sheen jobs. Two is the working count.
Does it include a frame?
No — the 47337 is covers only. The 47338 is the same cover with a 4" frame in the box.
What size frame?
A standard 4" mini (wire-spindle) frame — the cover slides on and spins on its end caps.
Can I touch up my wall with it?
For small standalone areas and trim, yes. To blend invisibly into a wall rolled with a 9", use the 4"-on-full-core 47353 instead — a standard mini's finer stipple can flash in sheen.
Is it really epoxy-rated at this size?
Yes — same woven fabric and family rating as the 9" covers, which makes it the mini for small coating and sheen touch-ups.
Trim in semi-gloss — will it shed?
It's built not to: woven, lint-free. De-lint it once before the first load anyway.
