Job: transfer a coating-loaded roller cover from its exact frame into a prepared receiving or cleaning system without directly gripping the wet cover, spreading coating outside containment, or damaging the frame or cover.
Time: no universal duration applies. The selected coating’s working, cleanup, and cure conditions control when removal remains possible; the frame and cover instructions control the act itself.
Difficulty: low only after the exact assembly has been identified and a current exact-model removal method supplies every operating and receiver criterion. If either condition is missing, the no-touch method is not ready.

Define “without touching it” precisely
In this guide, without touching it means the operator does not close a bare or protected hand around the coating-wet roller cover during removal. Do not infer the release action from the word Flexi or from the appearance of a flexible arm. Flexibility is a documented design attribute.
47413 — retaining-ring / knock-off seat
Confirm model 47413, its metal retaining ring, cage, bar, and exact mounted cover. Hyde documents the ring and the knock-off outcome. It does not document whether the receiver, ring, cage, cover edge, or another part supplies the reaction point. It also gives no operating-force range.
Accordingly, this guide does not direct the operator to strike or brace the frame against a bucket rim. That move appears as authored trade knowledge in earlier line/product prose, but it is not an accepted exact-model procedure.
47420 — 18" Flexi seat
Confirm model 47420 and the exact 18" assembly. Hyde’s official video identifies two attachment points and says the roller can be removed without touching it, but the captured description does not show how. The record also does not establish a complete compatible-cover roster or receiver size.
Resolve the handle/pole state from the current exact-model instructions before admission. The official video says the 18" frame has no handle and needs an extension pole; other official language mentions a handle.
Method proof required for all three
For the exact model, secure one of the following:
current manufacturer instructions that describe removal;
package directions attributable to the exact SKU;
an exact-model manufacturer video that visibly demonstrates the complete act; or
a manufacturer-authorized service or training instruction.
A store title, feature bullet, sibling model, third-party clip, remembered habit, or mechanism inferred from shape is not enough.
Admit the job only with a complete exact-model instruction
Do not load a cover merely to discover how the feature works. Record the document or demonstration identifier and revision.
Inspect the clean frame and cover under good light. Reject visible bends, cracks, missing parts, dried buildup, rough rotation, deformation, or uncertain seating. Compare every visible part and the mounted cover with the exact instruction. Stage the specified receiver and verify clearance without operating an undocumented feature.
Leave the cover in its maker-permitted state and obtain Hyde direction or use a separately documented alternate removal process. A local dry experiment cannot qualify the mechanism.
Build the loaded-removal station
Protect the complete receiver and travel zone defined by the current exact-model instruction.
Keep the bulk coating container closed and outside the release path. Keep every working, cleaning, and waste vessel identifiable; the coating and site plan decide segregation.
Provide lighting that shows:
the entire cover and frame;
the documented release component;
the receiver opening;
the floor immediately around it; and
any drip forming before the act begins.
Keep the exact instruction available. Have the next approved cleaning, storage, or waste step ready before release.
Reduce free coating only by the coating system’s method
The removal feature is not a paint-recovery device. Before releasing the cover, use only the coating maker’s permitted method to return, roll out, or otherwise manage free material.

Move the loaded assembly to the specified station and establish the instruction's receiver, orientation, support, clearance, and control points.
Confirm that containment is ready, no person is inside the documented travel zone, and the next cleaning or closure step is staged.
Follow the manufacturer act verbatim from its first step through containment. This guide supplies no substitute motion, reaction surface, direction, force, or recovery step.
Do not reach after, catch, or guide a falling cover unless the exact instruction expressly makes that part of the controlled method.
Once contained, secure the frame and receiver through their instructions and inspect immediately for drips, splash, damage, or incomplete release.
The 47412 and 47420 occupy the clean-hands/no-mess seats; the 47413 occupies the documented knock-off seat. Those are product dispositions, not three authored motions. The exact method remains instruction-bound for each.
Failure, jam, partial release, and spill recovery
The cover does not move
Do not add force, strike the frame, twist the cover, pry under an edge, bend an arm, lever the ring, step on the cover, or repeat the act rapidly. Keep the assembly over containment and compare the setup to the exact instruction. Check only visible identity, seating, contamination, damage, and changed geometry.
If the instruction provides a recovery path, follow it. The no-touch objective remains open; frustration is not a force specification.
The cover releases only partway

The cover falls outside the receiver

A frame part bends, cracks, loosens, or changes position
Stop and quarantine the frame from further use. Do not straighten, glue, heat, clamp, or field-modify an undocumented mechanism. Record the exact model, cover, coating, observed condition, and step at which it occurred for manufacturer review.
Cleanup, inspection, and closeout
Close the coating system first. Secure bulk and working containers as directed. Manage recovered material, wash media, residue, and contaminated protection under the coating and local rules.

What goes wrong — and the bounded fix
“The feature name tells me what to do.” It tells you the intended outcome, not the actuation. Obtain the exact instruction or demonstration.
The loaded cover will not release through the documented act. Coating, seating, cover condition, or assembly geometry may have changed. Stop over containment; do not add force. Use only the manufacturer’s recovery path.
The wet cover hits the receiver edge. Control the spill under the coating plan. Do not revise the receiver or path locally; obtain updated exact-model maker criteria before another attempt.
The 47413 ring appears to invite a bucket-rim move. Appearance and earlier authored prose are not an exact-model procedure.
A Flexi arm appears movable. Movable appearance does not establish which arm, direction, travel, hand position, or force releases a cover.
The cover begins to cure on the frame. Follow the coating and frame makers’ time-sensitive recovery direction. Solvent, cutting, heating, prying, and added force are not generic corrections.
The cover is too heavy to control after release. The destination or station was not proven for the loaded condition.
Cleanup attacks or softens a component. Stop exposure, contain the cleaner, and follow the cleaner/coating/tool instructions. No handle, cage, ring, arm, adhesive, or cover-core solvent resistance is inferred here.
The operator has the wrong 9" frame. A generic cage is not 47412 or 47413. Do not apply a documented Hyde feature to a look-alike.
What is the exact move for the 47413 knock-off feature?
It documents a metal retaining ring and a “knock off used roller feature,” but no actuation, reaction surface, direction, or force. Obtain current Hyde instructions or an exact-model demonstration.
Do I flex an arm on 47412 or 47420?
Hyde documents flexible/Flexi architecture and clean-hands removal, but the captured evidence does not show the release motion.
Does “no mess” mean I do not need protection or PPE?
It is a product removal claim, not an exposure-control or spill-proof certification. The coating label, SDS, hazard assessment, and site plan control protection.
Which covers fit these frames?
This job does not create a compatibility map. The 47412’s bundled Woven Ultra™ 3/8" cover is documented. Exact replacement-cover fit on 47412, the 47413 roster, and the 47420 roster require current exact-model manufacturer evidence.
Can I use any bucket or trash can as the receiver?
