At 1-1/2″ it moves very little paint per stroke; asking it to cut a long wall-ceiling band is an afternoon of reloading that a 2-1/2″ (80813) does in a fraction of the strokes.
Not an oil-finish brush — poly-nylon carries waterborne paint and only tolerates oil; fine varnish or enamel lay-off on trim wants natural bristle.
Not an artist's brush: for painting below about a half-inch of line — a nail-head spot, a hairline scratch, model-scale detail — the artist rounds (80011-80017) take over; the narrow sash is still a house-paint brush, not a liner.
Not a scrub or prep tool; that's the wire/stripping side of the catalog.
Small brush, small reservoir — a third of the bristle, tapped out; a flooded narrow brush loses its whole reason to exist by dumping paint past the target. Toe does the aiming. The long corner is a pointing device; sight down it at the line and pull. Short, controlled pulls. Narrow work is a series of deliberate strokes, not long sweeps — set, draw a few inches, lift, reset. Two hands when it counts. On a muntin, steady the brush hand with the other; this is fine motor work. Turn the brush, don't twist your wrist, to cut the opposite side of a bar — the slant only points one way. Clean to the heel. Even a small brush is ruined by dried latex at the ferrule; wash it out the day you use it and comb the fine tip straight (line-wide care rule).

Narrow members and tight cuts — window muntins, narrow trim, door edges, cabinet corners, reveals — where a wider brush would overshoot onto the surface next door (§2).
What does the "R" in 80811R mean?
It's the store's listing/variant marker on the same 1-1/2″ soft-grip sash; the record doesn't make it a distinct brush .
80811 or 80801?
Same head; soft-grip here, wood handle there. Pick the cushion for long detail sessions, the wood for traditional balance (§5).
Can I cut a whole room's wall lines with it?
You can, but it's slow — this width is for the narrow work; step up to the 2-1/2″ 80813 for long wall-ceiling bands (§4, §5).
Latex or oil?

Muntin painting keeps flooding the glass — what am I doing wrong?
